This project's main concept is to raise the original neighborhood's density off the ground by having the majority of apartments on the upper levels of the building. Phase 1 of this apartment complex is around 70,000 square feet and has a total of 30 units.
This multifamily project starts through a series of analyzing, researching, and exploring the densified construction of the Mar Vista Neighborhood. Because of the current housing crisis in Los Angeles, density within neighborhoods needs to increase rapidly. This project uses twenty lots within the neighborhood to create an urban edge that allows for new amenities including storefronts, salons, gyms, restaurants, basketball courts, recreational facilities, and coffee shops for the public and the residents.
